I am new to Miami. I work out of my apartment by myself, so I don't even have a chance to meet co-workers and make new friends, so it has been tough, but I do things and I get around out in the world and I try. (I am not a leper, I have tons of friends, just not really any in Miami yet.) In fact, this is a story about my one friend/ acquaintance that I have made here in the magic city.

I was in a bar a few Thursday Nights ago minding my own damn business, trying to catch a buzz and flirt with the bar-tendress, when a dude sitting next to me started going on about Clinton and O'Bama. I told him I thought both of them would raise taxes on us, and that McCain was the way to go. I also told him how I voted for Bush and that I honestly feel it was a huge mistake and that he was a huge let down. I was wrong, but that doesn't mean jumping on O-Bama's or Clinton's band wagon is the right thing to do either. Its like momma said, two wrongs don't make a right, just because Bush burned our asses, doesn't mean the next republican will right? He was shocked and said he never met anyone that actually voted for Bush and then admitted it now. He tried to sell me on O'bama or Clinton but its just not in me. I think O'Bama is a good man, and I think he shows real leadership, but I also have read his position on spending MY money and that's the key, its MY damn money, that I work for, and I don't like the government taking as much as they do now, but with O'Bama and Clinton, they want to take more... I am supposed to spend my money, NOT THEM. After awhile though, I grew tired of this debate and somehow we got on the topic of Gay Marriage. I told him that Gay dudes should be able to be as miserable as the rest of us, and get married if they want to, and I told him if it is ever legal, that one of the coolest things will be the first GAY divorce. I am betting it will get headlines. He then asked me about me... and I realized, He had been hitting on me...This was a straight bar and I am a masculine enough dude, I lift weights and drink beer and stuff but it was just down right flattering anyways. He said I was good looking! how cool is that. a Guy hit on me.. We just drank and we hung out and when I see him at this bar every now and then, we talk. So yes, right now he is more of an acquaintance but he is a cool enough guy and as long as he keeps his johnson in his pants around me I am ok with it... plus I am hoping some of his girlfriends will come around. Women so love a gay guy, I can be like that little fish that hangs out on the belly of the shark sucking off plankton or whatever, only you know instead of plankton it will be women who are friends of a gay guy. Thats Symbiosis right there.

From one Miamiean (or whatever) to another, learn Spanish. It helps a lot.
You don't like to see your tax-dollars wasted? Sanctifying Gay "Marriage" would cost Taxpayers approximately 38 Billion yearly. That's a conservative estimate based on the increased costs seen in small number of jurisdictions that currenly have taxpayers pay the health benefits for the "spouses" of gay bureaucrats.
I'd rather keep my portion of that 38 billion, but failing that, I'd prefer potholes be fixed.
Douche, ... I am working on it I just learned a few cusswords earlier today

Troll.. if communities are paying for healthcare benefits for spouses of Bureaucrats, then they are paying for healthcare benefits for spouses of Bureaucrats, and the sexual orientation wouldnt matter. Being Gay is something no body chooses, they are just born with a different trigger in their head then heterosexual people ...
I'm with you on the gay marriage thing. Personally, I'm pretty anti-marriage whether gay or straight, but that's just me (and you might agree with me on that right now). Who am I to tell two people who love each other what they can or can't do?
As for the gas thing, I'm kind of the same way (although I'm not as good b/c Vegas has crappy public transportation). I bought a car that got pretty good gas mileage, but I'm afraid that I more than offset any good I do that way any time I drive from Vegas to Salt Lake City to visit my kids. I still don't feel as much of a hypocrite as people like Sheryl Crow who take chartered flights everywhere and then tell people they should only be using one square of toilet paper every time they go to the bathroom.
Lastly, symbiosis indeed. I hope that works out well for you.
One more thing: I'd rather the government spend my tax dollars on health care and fixing potholes than the billions of dollars that have been spent on an impossible situation like the one in Iraq.
Wow, I'm so jealous, I've never had another woman hit on me. You must be really hot :)
Minnow- Here is to symbiosis...although so far, not so much...

Hearse, I look exactly like Brad Pitt, except completely and totally different (I stole that line from Larry the cable guy) but seriously I am neither great looking, nor am I a dweeb reject either, I am the very definition of an Average looking guy... I would put a picture up on my websight but then you might be able to see how ridiculous my self perception is...
Chewtoy, it's like this: You have to get out to meet people and if those people happen to be gay, well lots of straight women go to gay bars. Work it boy!
I respectfully decline to discuss politics. But thank you.
hedonist... I love the fact, and the reason why you call me Chew toy.. the fact is you are so mistaken.---- Please Recall, Herschell Walker quit running the rock for your bulldogs back in 84, you were probably about 2 years old or so and that was the last time Georgia was worth a damn.... (yes Knowshon kicked our ass last year specifically, but that was like one of 3 wins in the past 18 years...) SECOND of all, I am so trying, but actually my problem so far has not been the women, I have been doing poorly at that, but have hope for the future, based on my past, but I need some dudes to hang out with and stuff and be buddies and stuff, so far the only GUY I have been able to hang with at all is a gay dude....- which, like Seinfeld says, there s nothing wrong with that, and I dont think of myself as a homophobe, AND one day we may even be more then acquaintances, but still its not a real guy that ultimately would ever be more then a peripheral friend, and that May be the homophobe in me speaking.... seriously could a Straight guy ever be best friends with a gay guy? .. I dont think this straight guy could, but Yes I could have a peripheral friend that was gay...damn, thats a long ass response....
im loving the responses and the blog hahah Its like watching a made for tv drama sho, but a guy version of sex and the city...with less friends hahaha
i think you know my stint on politics dear, and no republicans will make it worse and your money is going to a senseless war, atleast this time if they do take it, it will be towards homebase on a greater scale for good...hmmmm
Sailor I agree our money is going to a senseless war and I agree the current leadership sucks. I also like O'bama alot and think he has his act together, Im just not voting for him because of his position on taxes --its really the main issue for me period
