Bill Gets political

Here is me being political. Ron Paul. Vote for the dude. - I can tell you why, but research him for yourself instead. - Short version, He will be harsh economically like we need, Even kind of like a grown up, but he will be liberal socially. Probably to weird for anyone to vote for him in numbers, but I think he is the best man for the job.

Lawyers and Judges and Billionaires and Millionaires going down the road of sadness

Today, an appellate court in St Louis upheld the NFL 's right to continue the lockout on the players.

-
The Players union representative, Demaurice Smith then had the obligatory statement that he is disappointed, but that they are prepared to be out for 2 years. This is depressing, and because of this ruling and the overall tenor of this whole dispute, today was the first time it occurred to me that they will not get this thing worked out in time for this NFL Season to start on time.
-
We will have the College game, but football season just won't be the same if they can't get it figured out. Plus I also heard HBO offered the hard knocks slot to the BUCS (assuming it gets worked out) but the Bucs declined the invitation.
-
Depressing news is depressing.

Negotiation.

My Kids negotiating with the police right by the left field line . Derek Lee had thrown Hunter a ball during the game and he was trying to play catch with it after the game during the Darius Rucker Concert. The police were concerned about an errant throw hitting someone else so they told him to quit. This negotiation resulted in them being able to throw the ball, under-hand.

-

We had some awesome seats right over the Orioles dugout.

Staying at the table and playing.

Okay, I am in no way thinking about killing myself. Seriously, In fact it would be the opposite. Hope that is clear, because earlier, when I was thinking about killing myself, it was in a context that had nothing to do with actually killing myself.

-
It went something like this; "Bill, all things considered, your life doesn't suck. You obviously have some problems in life, just like everyone else. Not saying you have everything going your way, but overall, and on a Macro scale, You have a pretty good life. "
-
That was how the thought process started. Then I started thinking about the future. which went something like this:
-
"Bill, up to this point in life, even though you have certainly had your share of getting slammed up against the rocks, overall it has been a pretty good run, Of Course that doesn't mean in the future you won't end up in prison, or homeless and dumpster diving in the back of a KFC somewhere.''
-
Then I thought about the old adage in gambling. Quit while you are ahead.
So that was when it occurred to me that the only way to do that in life is 1) have a good life so that you consider yourself ahead 2) Die.
-
If I were to drop dead now I believe the overall outlook should be that the kid did all right in life.
-
The correlation here is that I could also just continue having a good life and play it out till the natural end. That's the plan. Also, I think if a bunch of shit went wrong and I was actually "down" then the reason to live would be to dig out from that hole. So like Richard Bach says: "Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you're alive, it isn't"

Julie Scheneker can suck it.

Divorce is a brutal proposition. You spend a whole marriage becoming a team and working towards common goals, but then a cancer builds within that team, which tears it down. The divorce is like the surgery to not only cut out the cancer, but It's also the radiation and Chemo therapy that burns down the functioning parts of the team as well. Divorce is like the Napalm on the Marriage Jungle.
-
Parker Scheneker's Divorce has to be a thousand times worse than that. He was off serving his Country when he gets a phone call that his Wife killed their two kids for being mouthy.
-
So yes, Dude has the Marriage Cancer real bad, and needs the surgery. He has it so bad that you would think Julie Scheneker would just let it be, but the Bitch is trying to get her half of the assets. She is also trying to get Alimony and Her Diamond Ring. Basically, She is contesting the Divorce while simultaneously fighting her criminal charges for double murder of their children.
-
I guess she is planning on winning her criminal trial against the state, and then will need support from her Husband to maintain her lifestyle. This has forced him to file a wrongful death action (a civil action as opposed to criminal). I believe he has to do it because the way our divorce laws work, even though she murdered Their children, she would still be entitled to half of the marriage assets, because divorce in Florida doesn't concern itself with fault. The Separate wrongful death action will work to balance out the fairness (financially anyways) and shift it back to his side where it belongs. It's just so sad that she doesn't see the additional pain she is causing.
-
I thought the things My X-Wife did to us was bad. (still do, and I know I screwed up as well) Comparatively though, it really was nothing. My thoughts go out to Mr. Scheneker.

Riding the river

Thinking about riding the river, instead of walking on the banks. The River is much more fun, but it can also end up drowning you, or the rapids can slam you against the rocks. Of course sometimes its just smooth kayaking.

A Good day!

Great day today. Got some good solid work done, (for now, maybe later that work will turn out to be a mistake, but at this point in time, I am counting it in the win column.)

-
I bought a new book for myself that is about the human ability to remember, thanks to a reminder about it, that was written in a blog I read, by a guy up in Minnesota. Thanks Brian!
-
True story, I read a review about this very book a month or so ago, but then kind of forgot about it, until I was reminded today when I was reading his blog. (Kind of Ironic because it is a book about improving your memory: Moonwalking with Einstein)
-
Got an offer from a friend of mine to go to Game 3 of the Bolts/ Caps Playoff series and was able to get my rowdy on tonight a little bit. I am such a front running Hockey fan, but I am truly enjoying their run so far in the playoffs. Also, during the second intermission we were hanging out in the XO club, drinking a frosty, down in the bowels of the arena, and I saw Phil Mickelson. That was cool. I didn't even know he lived in Tampa. He was also sitting on the glass, just right across the rink from us.
-

Mickelson is just to the right of the ''y'' in the sweet bay sign.
-
Here are a couple of more pictures from the game tonight, including Ovechkin, when he was standing right next to me.
-
-
Plus the Thunder Bug just after he came running down the stairs and jumped on the Glass. It kind of startled me.
-
No doubt I am a front runner on this hockey stuff, but it's damned exciting right now.

where were you when you heard

I was at work in my cubicle on 9/11/01 when I heard the news about the towers, they announced it over the intercom system. A little while later, we were sent home. This morning I was brushing my teeth listening to my shower radio and Mike and Mike reported it.
