Fantasy Football is OVER

And it ends --- No last minute heroics by Donald Driver. I will take the 2nd place consolation prize and be happy. Other dudes ended up paying for me to play Fantasy Football this season. Bottom line, I invested some money to play, but won more then I had to pay. So to all you guys in the "No name league", thanks for that. Also, I have some money above and beyond that because of the results of this season, So you same dudes, Thanks for that also. I will update you guys on what I buy with your money.
-
Biggest regret was that I didn't start Phillip Rivers , when, had I done so, I would have been the champion. Also, I wonder about that coin flip for the Overtime period. had it not hit off of Urlachers head, would it have been tails instead of Heads? If it was tails, then the Packers would have had the football, and if they had the football I wonder if Aaron Rogers might have thrown 37 yards worth of footballs to Donald Driver. (that was how much I needed for him to get yardage points)
-
Its a game of Inches. Had Matt Ryan not flipped over at the one inch line on Sunday, and instead got into the endzone himself, that would have been enough...But alas I am just a runner up.. A runner up with a nice little second place cash grab, so its kind of like Golf. Second doesn't completely suck in Golf, and it doesn't totally suck in Fantasy Football either.

Monday Night and it means something

Its Monday Night and its a Nine Hundred Dollar game for the Billster. Right now I am up by 11 points. I have Donald Driver going and need a nice night out of him. The bad guys have four going. Greg Jennings, The Packer Defense, The Packer Kicker and Matt Forte. -- All things considered I think he has a better chance then I do, even though I have that eleven point cushion and Donald Driver. As the Analyst on ESPN say: COMEONMAN.
-
The Consolation is that the loser still gets around 9 bills ----less what we owe. Winner gets 18 bills,--- less what we owe so its a big swing, COMEON DONALD DRIVER ....
-
Also I probably should have already won. I had a choice of three QB's to start this week which was McNabb, Matt Ryan, and Phillip Rivers. I ruled out McNabb even though he has been my main horse all year because of the playing conditions in Washington. That turned out to be smart, So ultimately It was between Ryan and Rivers. I thought about it quite a bit, but in the end I figured Ryan would have a better chance against the Vikings D in the Dome, then Rivers would have against the BUCS D. ----Turns out that was wrong. Rivers put up 45, which does nothing for me as I had him on the bench and Ryan only got me 4. Regrets ....

Money earned watching football is Nice Money

Made some money tonight because of my football knowledge. That is some rewarding type of money. That is money like an artist makes. Money that a singer makes. Money made doing stuff I love to do. I basically watched NFL football this year which is a thing I do anyways, and because of that, and my choices of players for my fantasy team, and of course luck, I made money. I am not going to quit my day job but still it is a nice way to make money for sure.
-
I wish I could make money all the time by watching NFL football. I wish it was more. Bottom line. the pot in our league is 2600 bucks right now. I am guaranteed of collecting at least 30 percent of that amount, less my cost, which happened to be 260, --so 780 minus 260 = 520. But it aint over yet. Next week we play for 60% of the pot. Winner gets that paycheck, loser gets the 30% paycheck. Either way I am in the money. Money because I know NFL football and also because I was lucky this year. Doesn't matter, money made this way is better then working for it, plus the winner will get a cool ass trophy to properly display for the year in their home and I basically chose my new home in Tampa based on how good that trophy will look in my living room.
-
This is a good thing. So yes I signed a lease for my apartment in Tampa today. I am Moving into Derek Jeter's neighborhood. I suppose he will be my neighbor when he isn't playing baseball for the Yankees. I hung out with him on Saturday afternoon. Sort of , Not really, I was having a beverage in a wine bar and he came in and took a leak and left, but you know, it was kind of like we were hanging out, plus, in talking with some other people. they told me he lives in that same neighborhood that I am moving into.
-
Oh yes, the guy I was talking to that confirmed Derek lives in that same neighborhood? He has a boat, so I just told him he was my first friend that I made in Tampa, because I want to go out on his boat. Told him that straight up. Told him some of the best friends you can have are friends that have a boat and friends that have a truck.

Getting Lost in Tampa

Tampa is a driving town and I think that its sort of like the Bermuda Triangle in that "get lost" kind of way. I found myself going South according to my compass, but I would swear I was actually going North, and my compass would show West when I thought I was going East.
-
I would believe the compass, but at the same time, it gave me a sense of discombobulation.
Plus they name the streets over here, instead of numbering them. Sure Miami has some named roads and stuff, but generally they number most of them in South Florida. Named streets aren't helpful in finding your way when your lost in a strange city and the crazy magnetic field they have that messes up the East vs North vs South thing is also no help.
-
I have some leads on an apartment. I am closer then when I woke up this morning but will probably have to get lost some more tomorrow ....

Attitude

Going to Tampa today to find a place to live. Also there is a party on Saturday Night.
Still, its like a work trip -- why cant I make myself look forward to the newness and the adventure of it all? Why do I keep thinking of the huge pain in the ass it all is? I need a new attitude is what I need, but I am the only one who can give myself a new attitude, and try as I might, my attitude right now is that its all a huge pain in the rear.

Tebow for Heisman

Three horses in the Heisman race. Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, and Tim Tebow.
-
No doubt I think Tim should win it. and granted I am biased. Furthermore Tebow's numbers dont match up with Bradford and McCoy so if he does not win the thing, I understand. I don't agree but I understand.
-
All three QB's had a team that only lost 1 game. All three played some awesome football. Without each of these guys their teams are not one loss teams. Each of them made a huge difference in their teams season.
-
I rule out McCoy because his team did not even win the Big 10 South division, much less the whole league. it is unfair but they didnt and with a race that is this close it doesnt matter that its not fair, 8 out of 10 years the guy should have won it, but this year its so competitive and so close you have to rule him out because even though his team beat Oklahoma head to head, Oklahoma won the division, and won the league and Bradford was Awesome even in the loss.
-
Sorry Colt, I didn't vote for you but you are truly worthy.
-
So it comes down to Bradford and Tebow. Honestly I wish we could wait and see who wins the National Championship Game, but we can't. Thats not how it works. Statistically, Bradford should win. But if the award is about the best player in College football then fairness calls for Tebow to win the thing. Either way, whoever wins it they deserved it. My opinion is that it should be Tebow, Bradford, McCoy in that order, I think it will be Bradford, Tebow, McCoy in the Heisman race.
-
In the NC game I am confident it will be the 2007 heisman winner against the 2008 winner and the 2007 winner takes the NC trophy. Just my call. I also predicted that O'bama would choose Hillary as his running mate. No one listens to me.

A lesson learned today about moving

Took some action on the moving to Tampa thing today. Just a recommendation. call a few companies yourself. Dont go into the first websight that tells you they will have a few people compete for your money. here is the problem. I got about 20 different companies e-mailing me, and about 6 or so of them also called. They are all within about 100 bucks on the total cost with different sales pitches on why I should hire them instead of anyone else. Seriously, I didnt need that many bids, and after the 4th company is about 100 bucks or so from all the rest you can get the gist of it, and yet I am the one that asked for the input so I dont feel I can be rude when they call. I run it down for them, and then they tell me a number that is about the same as the other five or six numbers I already received.
-
I am going over to Tampa to find a place this weekend and told some of them I would call them back afterwards, after awhile, I just told them I would make a decision next week ( so I wont feel guilty in not calling them back) bottom line, 750 bucks was the low end, but I think they just did that to get me to pick them because their underlying numbers just dont seem to work out right then I figure they jack it up in the middle of the move. . The general area was 910 to 1050. with a couple of them guaranteeing a flat rate of 1k ....

Good T.V.

Okay, Best T.V. Show currently on T.V. right now.= ELI STONE. Big fan here. Recommend it to everyone, and believe that there is no way you don't like this show. Tuesday Nights 10 p.m. ABC, Watch it.
-
I like about 4 other different T.V. shows including, " How I met your Mother," "House" and of course "Dexter" and "weeds" -- My VCR broke awhile ago, so I haven't updated myself on "Dexter" and "Weeds".
-
Doesn't matter, that is a solid list, and I know "Dexter" and "weeds" didn't just all of a sudden start sucking . Top Five caliber shows, as it were, with ELI STONE at the very top.
-
If you haven't watched "Stone" yet, here is the set up so that you can just start watching at any show.
1) Eli Stone was a bad ass lawyer
2) then he had a brain Aneurysm, and started having weird visions which makes him follow those visions into action, to you know save the world, or at the very least, the individual people that he represents.
3) He successfully removed the aneurysm,
4) He found out that maybe its not aneurysms but that he is a prophet.
5) He got the Aneurysm back when he met with God who was played by Sigourney Weaver and asked for it.
6) His dad had the same thing, back then he thought his dad was just an alcoholic
7) His dad had foretold Eli's life as a prophet
8) He has an acupuncturist that knew his dad, and also has his dads Journal about the prophecy
-
Telling you its Good T.V. .....Lots more characters in it that I haven't described, and it is just a well written piece of T.V. Show.
-
If you haven't followed the show from the beginning then maybe it takes you a few episodes till you get it, because there are tons of characters like I said and they are all being slowly developed throughout, and the writers are developing those parts slowly but I am hooked. Its one of those few shows where I make sure I am in front of the T.V. when it is on.

Stress

-
Phillip Rivers or Matt Ryan at QB this week? Rivers is up against KC, but San Diego is going nowhere and they dont have the motivation. Ryan is against the BUCS at Home, both of those teams are fighting for their playoff lives. -- This is stressing me out. This is Fantasy Football playoffs I am talking about.

-

No worries here about having to pack up all my stuff, move to a City that I dont know, start a new job, find a place to live and still not miss any of my bills during the transition, No, thats not the worries to have. The worries I am dealing with is who to start at QB for week one of the fantasy playoffs.

Go Gators

So, those little bumps on your skin? you know, the chills ? The thing that happens when you are so, SOOOOOOOO fucking happy that your physiological changes in your body are noticeable?
-
That shit, that shit that just happens when all is well in the world? do you guys know what happens? You love everything. I am feeling love like it should be felt.
-
Do you guys know what I am talking about? Its like this, first of all I am a Gator fan. Its probably a stunted growth thing, but I started following them in the 3rd grade. I remember Nat, FUCKING Moore coming to my little third grade class to talk about how important school was, or winning the SEC was, or whatever,------ I cant remember specifically what the hell he was talking about, but I do know I did okay in School, and I am never as happy as when Florida Wins the SEC, so I gotta figure it was something about winning the fucking SEC that he was talking about that day.
-
Bottom Line, tonight The SEC was won. It was won by the team that should have won it. not the evil empire that is run by Darth Vader, It was not won by the team that went un- fucking defeated in the regular season, but by the team that SHOULD have went UN-FUCKING DEFEATED.
-
Anyways, I feel a tangent coming on, and here it is..... Stupid OLE MISS. they beat us and it was fair and square except for it wasnt .... They cheated to block that kick, but it wasnt called and now that it doesnt matter, I can say this: GOOD FOR YOU OLE MISS.. you beat the eventual SEC champions. and probably beat the EVENTUAL NATIONAL champions, although I am pretty sure OKLAHOMA is badass and they have a chance to beat us, but they will have to face a Florida team that has Percy Harvin running and catching the rock.
-
Either way. If you have a HEISMAN vote and you dont use the number one pick for Timmy Terrific then you are a closed minded son of a bitch. Statistically there are better candidates then Tim, but bottom line his stats are still awesome and we win because we have Tim.
-
FLORIDA is an 8 and 4 team without Timmy, but with him, we are National Champions. and although his Statistics dont measure with COLT or BRADFORD or even HARRELL he is the reason Florida is where Florida is, and where Florida is, is because of TIM... so bottom line, Although I respect those other guys for playing some awesome College football this year and realize I am biased, honestly, who was more important then Tim Tebow to his team ?
-
here is the answer: NONE of them. No one was, and you know how it will be proved ? it will be proved by who wins the NC and that will be the Florida Gators.
-
Bottom line is this, I am fired up and honestly its all gravy going forward. I have a contact and if you (the contact are reading this, then get me some Face Value tickets) but more importantly, even if I am watching it on T.V. I just dont care. I have the chill bumps going and I have the satisfaction of the SEC win, and I am just content. Not to say if more comes that wont be great and I get how college football is, we may not win the thing again for the next 10 years, but right now we have a shot, and win or lose its awesome to be A Gator right now. -- Also a little message to Brian In Minnesota. sorry you lost money, if it is any consolation you can call me wrong about them putting up fifty .. we clearly didnt do that, we only beat the number one team in the country by 11 which , by the way is more then ten.... sorry dude and again I hope it wasnt alot of money you wasted.

Saban is Evil

So this weekend, on Saturday, which, by the way, is not just a day, but rather it is the very heart of a weekend type of day. There may be better things about weekends, like a Friday Afternoon, or a Sunday Morning with bacon being cooked, but in the end, the heart of a weekend is a Saturday afternoon.
-
This Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. a little College football will be going on to determine all that is right in the world. Florida is the luke Skywalker, the Captain Kirk of this game. Florida is the little 7 year old boy that reads about thirsty kids in Africa and makes a lemonaide stand to earn the money to buy a well for those same thirsty kids.
-
Florida is about righteousness and wholesomeness. Florida is like a glass of Milk with some cookies while sitting by a fire, while Alabama is like those sickos that kick and maime puppies.
-
Oh sure on the surface they play it off like they are " looking out for the stray dogs of the world" or as they put it just running the rock off tackle, but in the end they are sick and twisted and instead of feeding the strays and combing their flea ridden coats, they are secretly torturing them. Just like that offense of Run it, run it some more , and then maybe throw it to that one guy..... To hell with Alabama, and to hell with Saban.
-
Do you guys want Alabama to win? Nick Saban to be rewarded for being the most miserly and un fun human beings ever born? Nick Saban is just evil in that his whole attitude about life is wrong.
-
Nick Saban is like Scrooge. He is the very personification of Charles Dickens character. In fact I am pretty sure that Dickens must have had access to a time machine to have come up with a character so like Nick Saban.
-
Look. Nick has already taken Fullmers job in Tennessee, Sylvester Crooms job at Mississippi State, and after that 36 to nothing white washing against Auburn No one is currently coaching the War Eagles either right now. Tuberville got beat down so bad he just up and quit a 3 million dollar a year job. Saban Is a Bully and you should not stand up for that .... Urban will slay him like the evil dragon he is,---- but still.... Lets slay the man with a little style . like Urban, WIll you stab Alabama with a left handed behind the back flippy sword thing? for some style? just because its so ridiculous that Bama is undefeated after only two years of the new evil empire? Please? Help me here and its okay if its not close lets treat them like Nebraska did us in 1995 in the desert ... K??

New problems coming down the road

New day, new problems. Evidently the patience of all the creditors for all the cards that I never took out in the first place are getting antsy about me paying them back the money I never borrowed. ------- AAAAAghhhhh... Lawsuits to come.... Oh Joy....

Things to miss

These are some of the things I will miss about leaving Miami, and moving to Tampa, and it is not in any particular order.
-
1) My cool ass view. ( I will of course try to find another cool ass view in Tampa, however I honestly believe that the amount I am paying for rent at my place in Miami, and the Cool ass view that I have now, is kind of a freaky, luck of the building boom gods of the recession . If I find a place with an equal or better view then this in Tampa, for the same amount of money I am paying here in rent, I will be absolutely, and utterly astonished)
2) Living in the same City as My Dad.
3) The troll looking, non English speaking HotDog lady that works that stand which is diagonal from my block and just down a way. We have grunted together many a time as I partook in a free wheeling wild ass hotdog, live from her cart, filled with condiments and oh so satisfying to my Gut.
4) All the various Restaurants and bars that are in walking distance from me. (My intention is to find a similar situation in Tampa, however I do not count on that at all, Tampa is like a Junior varsity Miami, just like Miami is a J.V. NYC.)
5) I will miss going to Dolphins games, however I am such an NFL WHORE that It will be quickly replaced by going to BUCS games.
6) There are a few women, I probably was still to scarred from the Shenanigans of My Ex to truly commit to any of you, but even the ones who were just using me, like I used them, I enjoyed the time we spent together. I am finding myself much less worried about the Ex now, as I continue to work on just being the father of her children and not her partner, ... but you know--- its the old, Lots of fish in the sea thing.
7) I will miss working on my own schedule. True. lately the workload dictated that my own schedule included 16 hour days but still, it was my own. The new job, though filled with lots of other opportunities and perks and offsets is still a go to work at 8 Am in the morning type of thing and then even though it says leave at 5 p.m. I truly understand my job is to get in there before my boss and only leave after he does and by the way I have no Idea what that means right now? Is my new boss a guy that comes in at 5 AM and leaves at 8 P.m? cause if he is then holy moly I am screwed.
8) The El-Malecon. This is a cheesy little restaurant across the street that serves breakfast ... I love that place
-
anyhow, There are many more things I will miss about Miami, but even though Tampa Traffic will suck, there is no way it will suck as bad as this southflorida Bullshit.
-
I also dread the whole process of moving. but that will be another post, later on, when I actually do it. -- I am still in South Florida for another month or so....

a chance encounter with an old friend

Today, while out in the world trying to earn some bucks, I had some time to kill between two of my appointments. I was in the heart of Broward County somewhere and decided to just walk around a nearby mall, look at stuff, Be American, be a consumer, Christmas is coming soon.
-
As I was minding my own business, almost ready to leave, I saw someone that I hadn't seen since the early to mid 90's. This was someone I had known pretty well back then. She was at my wedding, I was at hers. She had married one of my best friends, who for the purposes of this blog I will call NTF. They got divorced around 1994 or so, maybe 1995, its all a blur, but back in the day, she was one of my people. We hung together. She was a friend of mine.
-
When they got divorced, and she moved away to Virginia, we lost track, and then today, while I was killing time in a mall somewhere up north in Broward County, I saw her. It had been a long time, so I wasn't a hundred percent sure it was her, so I followed her like a common stalker. She was walking fast, and I almost gave up without being sure it was even her, but I didn't, and it was.
-
She still lives up North, and was just down for a little vacation and just happened to be in that mall at the same time I was. A mall that she, nor I never go to, ever, except for today. It was good to talk to her. It made me think about the old days. She is still as beautiful and outgoing as she ever was, and seems to be doing well for herself.
-
I find this chance encounter quite remarkable, so I am remarking on it in my blog tonight.
