Riptides and life

A conversation I had with my Dad tonight made me think about riptides. When you find yourself in one, the natural instinct is to fight to get back to shore, but in reality, the way to get yourself out of that situation is to let the riptide take you out to sea, and then after you feel the current weakening, swim parallel to the beach line, and then swim back.

Sometimes in life, when you feel yourself in its current, the same thing applies. Let it take you and then after you get some distance from it, just swim on back.

Life can throw you some curve balls and some of them dont break over the plate they just hit you where it hurts but after you deal with the pain you often get to go on down to First base and keep on keeping on.
