You know what it is? It's about trying to do your best. Tonight's Monday Night Football Game was about that. - My Dad always tells me how unimportant sports are, but you know what, Sports are so fucking important in real life, and he, and those other people that think that shit is not important are just wrong.
-
The beauty of that game tonight was that people fought through adversity, people excelled when by all rights they should have been sitting on their couch. Watching that game is the same thing as looking at a Million dollar piece of art.
-
Sports are such a magnifying glass on the human spirit. Or, call it what you want, Sports is like art, it just makes your inner soul feel good when it is like this. Let me also tell you something about Rex Grossman. Dude is a football player and that loss hurt him. It is his job. No one watches me do my job. My job is probably not as important to the masses as his is. My job puts a roof over my kids heads and feeds me and puts a roof over my head etc. But Millions of people don't watch me when I fail.
-
I just know how awesome this past three hours was and what it means to me. It means I can still strive, It means I can "Play Hurt" I can suck it up, I can deal with failure, I can seriously appreciate how awessome that was.

Another Rant on how important Sports are:
An Ode to Tony Romo
Watch me falling in love with Tony Romo. I am doing it in the most non-Gay way that there is. Seriously, not that there is anything wrong with that. I am doing it on the Internet on my blog telling you about my love for the man. Okay, seriously I know its not love, but it is a High level of admiration. Dude is the type of QB that everyone wishes they could be.
-
Just saying, I have man love in a Non Gay way for the man. Holy cow. Dude had his lung punctured last week along with some cracked ribs and he came back through all that to beat the 49ers while coming from behind (again, in a non gay way)
-
A week and a day later, supposedly, his lung puncture has healed and he is, allegedly, only dealing with cracked ribs. So this is what the Dallas Cowboys decide to do; They get him a Kevlar flax jacket. ---- Okay, ---------here is my thought process on that: wouldn't that have been better last week? Seriously, why don't dudes playing QB in the league ALL wear that stuff? okay, that's fine, maybe it hurts mobility, maybe it has some negatives I am not aware of, so the second thing they do, is they Shoot him up with pain killers. Nice. That happens all the time in the NFL, when you are talking about making millions of dollars a year to play you need to play even if you have cracked ribs and a punctured lung.
-
Seriously, tell me this? does a puncture in a lung really just heal itself in 8 days? Pretty much I am sure that shit doesn't work that way. So, I think the dude had a little hole in his lung when he was balling tonight. Dude is a star though and dude just plays football. I love that about him. Truth be told, I don't really love him I just love how he is.
-
You want to know what was cool? after they won 18 to 16 and they do the little interview his quote was basically this: Its Football season, that's when you play football.
-
Truly, Seriously, HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE THAT? IS THAT NOT THE MOST MANLIEST QUOTE EVER SPOKEN BY A DUDE WEARING A FLAX JACKET AND WHO GOT SHOT UP WITH PAIN MEDICINE and then on top of that dealt with inept team-mates?
-
Dude inspires me.

Good Day today for the billster

Seth Godin had something smart to say about a problem I have been having for months.
From Seth Godin's blog:
Talker's block
No one ever gets talker's block. No one wakes up in the morning, discovers he has nothing to say and sits quietly, for days or weeks, until the muse hits, until the moment is right, until all the craziness in his life has died down.
Why then, is writer's block endemic?
The reason we don't get talker's block is that we're in the habit of talking without a lot of concern for whether or not our inane blather will come back to haunt us. Talk is cheap. Talk is ephemeral. Talk can be easily denied.
We talk poorly and then, eventually (or sometimes), we talk smart. We get better at talking precisely because we talk. We see what works and what doesn't, and if we're insightful, do more of what works. How can one get talker's block after all this practice?
Writer's block isn't hard to cure.
Just write poorly. Continue to write poorly, in public, until you can write better.
I believe that everyone should write in public. Get a blog. Or use Squidoo or Tumblr or a microblogging site. Use an alias if you like. Turn off comments, certainly--you don't need more criticism, you need more writing.
Do it every day. Every single day. Not a diary, not fiction, but analysis. Clear, crisp, honest writing about what you see in the world. Or want to see. Or teach (in writing). Tell us how to do something.
If you know you have to write something every single day, even a paragraph, you will improve your writing. If you're concerned with quality, of course, then not writing is not a problem, because zero is perfect and without defects. Shipping nothing is safe.
The second best thing to zero is something better than bad. So if you know you have write tomorrow, your brain will start working on something better than bad. And then you'll inevitably redefine bad and tomorrow will be better than that. And on and on.
Write like you talk. Often.

Tony Romo is a Gamer!
Color me impressed with Tony Romo. Dude had two cracked ribs and a PUNCTURED LUNG and was out of the game against the 49ers, but to hell with that, He sucked it up and went back in and brought the Cowboys back with 13 points in the second half, including a 77 yard touchdown to a T.V. Reality star. I am bringing the admiration for the man right here on my blog. Not a Cowboy fan but definitely an admirer of their starting QB.

Bill Thinks about Future Bill
Looking forward to watching Monday Night Football and also grateful for My D.V.R. How I Met Your Mother is on tonight and I am recording it for my future entertainment.

Coach Fox, Read this....
My eyes hurt from watching that 10:15 Monday Night game yesterday. The Raiders and the Broncos are clearly two of the most poorly coached football teams ever to play in the National Football League.
War Eagle and Plexiglass
Funny is funny. Even when you think, Hey maybe I shouldn't be laughing at this because its just not right, if it's funny, well, then it's funny.

Love having the NFL back.
Nice opening game, missed most of it because of a prior commitment. Not to say I was out digging ditches instead of watching football, no, I was out living my life, watching comedy. It was some top of the line comedy as well. Tommy Johnagin. Dude was just funny and my friend kept texting me throughout the night letting me know how Jermichael Finley was doing.

Sad Manning Face
Peyton Manning is not going to play football this Sunday. Neither am I. We are pretty much the same guy, except He has Peyton Manning Face and I don't.

Finally, its back.
Football is finally back. This weekend there will be tailgating, some grilling and college women walking around in those sundresses. Life will be good.
