The life

Kirk Herbstreit is Cool. I have a man crush on the dude. Not in a Gay way, but in the admiration of his life kind of way.
-
Again, not gay, but he is a good looking guy. So he has that going for him.
-
But that's just the start. His job is to go to the college town in America that has one of the Best College Football games in all the land, on any particular Saturday. The company he works for PAYS him to do that. Then what he has to do is hang out with the Coaches of the respective teams and talk football with them to find out nuances about the teams that are playing.
-
His company flies him in on their dime. They put him up in nice hotels and then he has to do that thing, like I said above, where he has to talk football with football coaches and stuff. That's his job. do you understand that? The Mans Job is to go to different college towns, talk with college coaches and players and then America about FOOTBALL. COLLEGE FREAKING FOOTBALL. That's what he does for a LIVING. I am in awe of that.
-
Then he has to go on TV and talk about football some more to America.
-
That is so cool. Plus, The company not only pays his air fair and hotel bills and put him on the T.V. but they also pay him a bunch of money to do that.
-
Remember, He is a good looking, famous guy who goes all around to different college towns all over America, and you know who lives in College towns? College WOMEN, that's who live in those towns. Now, he is married, and I just assume he is faithful to his wife and all, but DAMN if he was single the dude could be legendary with the amount of scoring he could be doing.
-
Seriously, Is that the life or what?
-
So in summary: women dig him, His job is to watch and talk about football with coaches and players, and then be cool on T.V. while talking about football to America ...These are all things I think I would enjoy. women digging me, talking football for a living, and of course getting paid allot of money to do all that. Yes sir Kirk, I admire the life you have built for yourself.

Bar Stool Economics

An E-mail going around the internet and now re-printed here on my blog.

Bar stool economics
-
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.
-
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this: The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1.The sixth would pay $3.The seventh would pay $7.The eighth would pay $12.The ninth would pay $18.The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
-
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20."Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33.But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay. And so: The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings). The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings). The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%! savings) . The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings). Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!""Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man."I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!""That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison."We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor! "The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill! And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier. For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible. David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D.Professor of EconomicsUniversityof Georgia

FL vs GA Week

Here it is Wednesday of the Fl, UGA week, and although I have been thinking about it alot, I havent even mentioned it in my blog. so there you go. ITS FL UGA week and for a little over 3 hours this Saturday all worries will be forgotten, all problems put on the back burner except for the ones the mighty Gators will face during the game. THOSE will be the things I worry about then, and the only thing I will be able to do is YELL at the freaking T.V. about them. -- Or Maybe like the last Four weeks we will blow the bulldogs out also? Then even if we give them a safety or something late in the game, it will be something like 63 to 5 and it really wont be that big a deal to me? -- I think however we are going to have one of those back and forth affairs which are fun also but much more stressful.

Hello Day

To feel like a paper towel on a roll of paper towels is what it felt like getting up this morning.
-

My alarm went off and I put it on snooze. As I layed there in bed knowing I had to get up and face the day and all the stuff ahead of me, I imagined I was a paper towel on a roll of paper towels. The bed was the roll, and I was an individual towel. I had to rip myself off from the roll so that I could get to work on cleaning up the spills. Sometimes when you rip the individual towels it doesn't come with a perfect tear. sometimes you get a little edge off from the next sheet , and now the roll isn't all clean cut anymore. You have to be more careful tearing that next piece off so that the roll is even. That's the equivalent of making the bed, all the while wishing you could still be attached to the roll itself, and didn't have to go about the business of cleaning up spills and stuff.

Jim Tressel sweater vest wearing weather and I missed it.

Some guys wear Bow ties. That's their thing. Andrew Sorenson who was or maybe even still is the President of the University of Alabama wears them, that's just what he does. Dhani Jones wears them. He plays Linebacker for the Bengals. Even has his own company that makes them.
-
Barry Goldwater was Huge with the bolo tie thing before he passed away. (side note, true story, I went to college in Arizona and one day I pulled my car up behind a Black sedan with tinted windows and the license plate read: AU H2O, which are the symbols for Gold and water which if your name was GoldWater that would be the perfect plate to have, and yes it was him)
-
Other guys wear Hats. David Garard the QB for the Jax Jags thinks its still the forties or something the way he sports those fedoras.
-
Me I am a sweater vest guy, Except I am not. I Like the whole sweater vest look, but I live in the tropics. Back in the day when I lived in North Central Florida our winter was more then 4 or 5 random days between October and February so I could sport it a little. Jim Tressel basically stole that signature look from me. Except now not so much. So much to my chagrin when I walked all the way down my hall today, waited for the elevator, caught the elevator, rode down to the lobby and finally walked out the door to find that it was actually sweater vest wearing weather and I didn't sport one. How devastating for the billster. I contemplated going back up to get one on, but then knew I was running late for my day and didn't. Tomorrow though its supposed to be the same. Watch out Jim Tressel. I am going to be sporting it tomorrow!!!

Two Guys not drinking the kool aid.

I received this E-mail Tonight, I cut it and pasted it here in my blog:

"In a local restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--justImagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained To him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank The server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money He did earn even though the actual recipient needed money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application."
-
I hope this was a true thing, It probably wasn't, but Just the thought of how Bad O'bama is going to screw us and the fact that Probably More then Half of The people that vote dont see this or dont care. OR know that they are the ones that the wealth is going to get "re-distributed to" just eats me up. His party has better views on Stem Cell research, They also are more in line with my thinking on Roe V Wade and all that, but please, Those issues are secondary when it comes down to it.
-
And listen, I DONT make 250 k a year which is the Magic number O'bama says means you deserve to have your money "redistributed at" But I also dont think making 250k is out of the realm of possibility for me down the road in a few years. (Gotta Have hope right?) Plus I dont believe the Number is really 250k, I think that is a lie that he tells in order to get elected. I am pretty sure the real number is Much closer to around 60k or so.
-
Also, Today driving down the road I saw this guy:
Thats just funny. Me and That guy aren't driking the O'Bama Kool Aid. I know of others as well, But all you Obama people, you have this thing LOCKED up, If I were you I would not waste my time even voting on the 4th, because like I said, You have locked it all up!

Sunday Night blues coming on

Sunday Night Blues. I am sure everyone gets them and some days they are worse then the others. Stupid Monday is coming. She is on her way ready to put the beatdown on you and what have you. I could have done more today in the way of work to be better off going into Monday but at some point you have to just take what you can get and play catchup on Monday. I intend to drink a few beers tonight, watch a little World Series Action and go to bed and get up ready to go On Monday. --Just another day in paradise though

The Ohio State.

What about waking up in the morning and pulling for OHIO STATE to beat someone. Thats kind of a different thing for the Billster.
-
The Team I root for is of course the Gators, and it would be helpful to them if OHIO STATE can put an "L" on Penn State.
-
I still believe that if we run the table, our one loss team will be in a better position then any other one loss team to be ranked at least number 2, and have the opportunity to come on down to Miami for the NC.
-
If Penn State wins today then I believe they will run the rest of their schedule undefeated and take up one of those slots.

a look ahead to the wonderfulness that is Friday

The beauty of a Friday. Working my butt off tomorrow but then at the end of the day I will have clocked down a fruitful week. Friday Night I am going to have a few drinks with a friend, Hopefully, the woman has stood me up quite a bit in the past, and then Saturday is Gator Game Day. Not going to the game in Gainesville this weekend, but will watch it at an establishment with other clear headed Gator fans. Then Sunday I think the Fish Will beat down the Bills for only their second loss of the season. I just feel it. Hopefully I will see it on that day as well. Also I picked up Ricky Williams to replace the injurred Reggie Bush so come on Sparano give him the rock ...
-
Next week will come soon enough, and it is already kind of ugly looking with lots of stupid windshield time, but I will deal with that like the waiter deals with the customers that get sat down at their tables. I will bring the soup, and will make sure no flies are in it as well.

Here is to Shoulder shrugs and neck rolls

Just thinking out loud, and I can do that well, because of this blog. I could keep it all in my head like most men would, or I could let it out. Just put it out on the Internet.
-

My life is very bumpity. It has ups and downs and it has lots of setbacks and a few good things that happen here and their. It seems like I always do better by night time. Mornings and days bring challenges, and sometimes... Okay, most of the time I meet the challenges. Not always, but most of the time.

My problems aren't like being a waiter in a restaurant type of challenges, where you have the stupid customer that is difficult and kind of snooty and basically just an asshole, but you know you cant just rip into him because then you might put your job in a fix. Those customers will come in and sit at your station and give you some shit, but at the end of the night, when you go home, they have also, and the next day is a new one.
-
No, my problems stick around, Its like a customer who just never leaves. You come in to work your shift, but every day that same customer is sitting at that table bitching about the soup being cold or god forbid a fly is floating around in it. Like I give a shit if you have a fly in your soup, but because I am a waiter, I have to act like it. You probably sleep in a dump you asshole, and flys follow you around and they don't live for very long, so it was probably on your body and just fell in the soup, but to you its just an opportunity to bitch at me. Don't worry about the fly in your soup, worry that you are such a dickhead that I spit in it.
-
No, Those aren't the kinds of things that I worry about, because really, my problems are like being born with a big head. You can't help you were born with a big head that is out sized for your body. That's not your fault. But your big head doesn't just bitch at you some and then pay the bill and stiff you on your tip and go home. No, your big head just stays on top of your neck day in and day out. That's the type of problems I have. Problems that just don't go away at the end of the shift.
-
So what do you do? You work out on developing your neck muscles and your shoulders so that your big head looks more proportionate. That's what you do. Every day you do shoulder shrugs and neck rolls. You look in the mirror and realize you have a big head and say to yourself, I can't shrink this big old Mellon of mine but I can make it more symmetrical and more in line with my body by getting those neck muscles to look like the big head belongs.
-
Some days its not the big head that gets you. Remember, you work on it and develop your neck and shoulders so you are okay with the big head, but then it gets you in a sneaky way. Like when you go to buy a hat or something but they don't make it in your size? Its like you overcame the big head problem that you have with all the neck and shoulder workouts, but then reality sets in and you can't buy a hat because they don't make them that big. Your lack of hatness then becomes another problem, so you end up being okay with the size of your Mellon but damn you wish you had a hat that fit. So the next day when you are waiting on that asshole it turns out his job is: hat maker. Damn, good thing you never told him he was an asshole and the fly in his soup should be the worse of his problems with the soup. No it turns out your buddy the asshole customer has the hat making ability to help you out, so you suck it up.
-
This is all a metaphor though, My head, though large, is not abnormally large and really I have such beautiful hair I don't really need a hat or anything and of course I am not a waiter.
-
I think I had to many Percoset tonight, cause it feels like someone punched me in my jawbone. Or you know, it did until I had the previously mentioned multiple Percoset. Its like I had to pay a guy this afternoon to punch me in my jaw, but really he just took drills and needles and gutted my mouth all up. He says the Root Canal is all done now, but I still get the joy of the crown coming up. I had to put it off though for a few weeks until I can bank enough to pay that other dentist guy to also punch me. Its a race against the end of the Percoset bottle, verse when the crown goes on.
-
Anyhow this all made sense to me. Tomorrow when I wake up I will see if it still does.

LSU had twelve players on the field for this one

Looks like LSU was cheating on this play. They apparently had twelve men on the field. Good for them though because its not cheating if you get away with it.
